After blogging so many others, I cannot tell you how surreal it is to be blogging our OWN wedding photos today! We were so blessed to have the happiest day of our lives photographed by the amazingly talented and wonderfully kind Sean Cook. I clearly already valued wedding photography, but I can now say firsthand what a gift it is to be able to relive such blurry memories (they say it goes by fast and they weren’t lying).
Below is a snapshot of our favorite people on our favorite day during a season of life we never want to forget. When planning our wedding we knew we wanted it to encompass three things: a day of worship to Jesus for who He is and what He’s done, a day of community with the people who have shaped us, and a day of celebration for this love we share. We were so intentional in every small detail to make sure our wedding day reflected our relationship and what is important to us (including donuts)! I could ramble here forever, but instead we just want to share a few of our favorite memories:
I could probably list over one hundred things, but I suppose what I’m trying to say is that it’s the little things that made this day so special. Sure, I (and many others) worked hard to ensure that the day was aesthetically beautiful, but ultimately it was the connection with other people and each other that had us smiling so hard all day. To look around and see so many people from so many walks of life is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and one we wanted to be entirely present in.
Relationships are all-consuming, and we’ve fought for five years to live this glorious day, but it is not the peak in our story. Yes, I wish I could wear that dress every day, but today and tomorrow and the day after that are just as beautiful because we are following a perfect and gracious God. He lays our path and numbers our days and we are so grateful to be found in Him. Sweet Connor Scott is the biggest blessing of my life outside of God’s relentless grace, and I hope to celebrate both of those things for every day to come.
