The second I met Mary at their Newfields engagement session, I knew that she had impeccable taste. She holds herself with such grace and dignity, and so it was no surprise that she thought of every detail for her Garden Estate wedding in Cincinnati. Everything about their day was timeless, elegant, and a perfect reflection of Mary & Zach. Probably because she did all of the planning (and the florals) by herself!
The impeccable grounds of Laurel Court were the perfect backdrop for the celebration, and it felt like all of the guests had been whisked off into a secret garden. A sailcloth tent with string lights and candle-lined tables made for an intimate reception under the stars as guests filled their plates with charcuterie, wood-fired pizza, and local bbq. Samantha Joy Events did an amazing job of bringing Mary’s vision to life: lining tables with fresh blooms and garland, icing bottle of San Pellegrino, and even putting out a vintage wooden high chair for the wedding’s youngest guest. One of my favorite moments during the night was when the new Mr. & Mrs. snuck out to pop the cork on their favorite bottle of Armand de Brignac champagne. Talk about a celebration!
If that’s my favorite moment, then my favorite detail was the custom invitations by the immensely talented Michaela BcBride Calligraphy. She created a breathtaking sketch of the venue that became central to the design. It set the tone perfectly and gave guests a taste of what was to come! Not to mention that it paired perfectly with Mary’s Bella Belle shoes and custom engraved Mrs. Box. Her long, lace-trimmed veil felt Meghan Markle-esque, and was a dream to photograph all day long.
And if the details weren’t enough, I can’t possibly talk about this wedding without describing the love between Mary & Zach. A quick look through their photographs makes it easy to see the chemistry they share, and after nearly ten years of dating, their wedding day was filled with such full joy. There were happy tears from almost every member of the bridal party, and their post-ceremony embrace made for one of my of all-time favorite wedding photographs.
Mary & Zach, you are something special, and so was your wedding. Cheers to a forever love!
